Kart racing tips from our senior Race Director, Ian Seager
Sitting in the kart
It’s really important to sit correctly. When you are driving around your brain is continually getting messages about what the kart is doing (turning, sliding, accelerating and braking) and your eyes are always looking for where you are driving towards. To control all these movements you are going to be moving your arms and legs, almost without thinking. So that you always use the same movements, and keep your centre of gravity always in the same position, sit correctly and consistently in each kart. Sit right back in the seat, shoulder blades against the seat. Hold the wheel comfortably with both hands and your arms slightly bent. Legs should still be bent even when you push down on both pedals. Now you’re set to win!

Karting Tips - Taking Care of Yourself
Kart racing tips from our senior Race Director, Ian Seager
Take Care of Yourself!
Wear a crash helmet that fits, not the one with the racy colours! It should slip comfortably over your ears, fit snugly to your cheeks but not feel too tight. Give your head a shake, the helmet should not wobble of feel loose. Finally, do up the chin strap and when you move away in the kart, drop the visor down to protect your eyes. You can normally leave a little gap at the bottom of the visor so that you don’t steam up!

How to organise the perfect stag/hen karting night
Organising a stag/hen party can be tricky, especially if you've got a big group. We organise over 3,000 parties a year, and here are our top tips:
Have your race event first thing in the day, to ensure your party guests are still sober!
- It pays to plan ahead. Save £££ by booking in advance. Book online for the best pricing.
- Meet at the venue (not at someone's house) to reduce travelling and ensure everyone knows where to go.
- It's your big day, so pick the best venue. Shop around. Think about safety, reliability, weather and proximity to local bars/clubs.
- Delegate as much as you can! Use the circuit's event co-ordinators to get special rates for hotels, limos and champagne.

Want to WIN when you go karting?
Want to WIN when you go karting? Here are our favourite tips for setting the fastest lap time:
- Be smooth - sudden movement upsets the kart's balance; smoothness maximises grip
- Brake in a straight line
- Slow in, fast out - maximise your exit speed, not your entry speed
- Use all the track width - use as little steering as possible to get round the corner
- Overtake cleanly - stay cool & focused, ready to pounce
