Injured troops in kart action
Teamworks Karting Birmingham will be hosting the final KARTFORCE event tomorrow, 7th February.
Kartforce is a truly inspirational project with a goal of providing injured troops with memorable adrenaline packed experiences. The serviceman taking part - include triple amputee Andy and Military Cross winner and double amputee Ricky - have all suffered life-changing injuries serving for their country but are able to drive a kart with one or two hands using specially designed hand controls. Monday Night Club - Results ...
The first real winter temperatures hit the UK tonight, making a level playing field for all drivers. When it's colder, there's more power than grip, so the best drivers save momentum and carry as much corner speed as possible.
Three circuits actually ran quicker this week than last week, which shows you can't always tell the lap times by the weather!
Here's who made the top step of the podium:
- Birmingham - Matthew Parkes 25.20s (faster than last week's best time!)
- Coventry - new member Bradley Philpott 26.96s
- Letchworth - Aaron Tulk 24.31s (this time beating Jason Tulk's 24.58s, both faster than last week)
- Peterborough - TBC
- Reading - (driver TBC) 24.13s (a full 2 seconds faster than last week's best time!)

Karting for Wheelchair Users!
It's here at last! Genuine racing for wheelchair users!
KartForce hosted their first event at Reading on Tuesday night, and it was a roaring success.
The KartForce team is made up entirely of injured British troops, including double- and triple- amputees. Using specially-designed hand controls to operate the karts, KartForce beat all-comers to finish a very impressive 2nd place, only narrowly beaten by a team of professional racers!

Teamworks Karting Peterborough hopes to set another UK first in February, when it offers karting to the general public for disabled wheelchair drivers on a permanent basis - watch this space!
